How to remove dark spots on armpits

Underarm skin may darken after shaving, waxing, deodorant irritation, repeated rubbing, or a rash. Seek prompt care for fever, marked tenderness, or pus. A clinician can distinguish dark patches from conditions such as post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation or tinea versicolor before treatment is started.
