Urinary and sexual changes are possible after prostate cancer treatment, so rehabilitation and supportive care should be part of the conversation.

Request a clear explanation of every staging term in the report and keep copies of pathology and imaging results. Ask when prostate-specific antigen will be checked and what result would prompt further review. Discuss pelvic-floor support, continence care, sexual-health support, and bone health when relevant. Difficulty passing urine needs assessment rather than being assumed to come from the cancer.

Seek prompt medical advice for inability to pass urine, heavy bleeding, fever after a procedure, worsening pelvic pain, new leg weakness, or loss of bowel control. Sudden weakness, numbness, or severe back pain requires urgent assessment because spinal or nerve problems need rapid attention.

Ask which finding made the tumour PT3a, whether margins and nodes are clear, how grade and prostate-specific antigen affect the plan, and what follow-up schedule is recommended. Compare the expected benefits and side effects of radiotherapy, brachytherapy, surgery, and other suitable options.
