What should you know about pinky finger fracture cast?

A fracture may affect the small finger bone near the fingertip, middle joint, or hand. A clinician may first align the bone with a closed reduction, then use fracture casting to limit movement. The cast may include the ring finger or hand so the pinky is protected from bending and twisting. Plaster of Paris and fibreglass cast material feel different, but both are shaped to hold the injured area steady.
