What should you know about non stop runny nose?

Clear watery discharge with sneezing or itchy eyes often fits allergic rhinitis, including sensitivity to house dust mites or pets. A common cold, influenza, or COVID-19 may cause a runny nose alongside sore throat, cough, tiredness, fever, or body aches. Thick mucus, facial pressure, reduced smell, or symptoms that worsen after an initial improvement can occur with sinusitis. Reduce exposure to smoke and noticeable triggers; keep windows or bedding managed if dust or pet exposure brings symptoms on. A pharmacist or clinician can advise whether an antihistamine or nasal treatment is suitable, particularly for children, pregnancy, high blood pressure, or other medicines. Avoid taking antibiotics without an assessment.

Arrange medical review if the runny nose persists, repeatedly returns, disrupts sleep, or comes with facial pain, fever, ear pain, or reduced smell.
