What should you know about NKI-C3 immunohistochemistry?

Immunohistochemistry uses antibodies that attach to selected proteins in preserved tissue. A visible stain can show where a marker is expressed and what pattern it has. NKI-C3 is one marker that may contribute to the distinction between tissue types or possible tumour origins in a suitable clinical setting.

A positive, negative, weak, or uneven staining pattern is not a diagnosis by itself. Pathologists compare it with the tissue's microscopic appearance, other marker results, the biopsy site, imaging, and the clinical history. Different conditions can share markers, so the overall pattern matters.
