What should you know about neutrophil flow cytometry?

Neutrophils are white blood cells that help respond to infection and inflammation. In flow cytometry, cells pass through a narrow stream while light signals are measured. Special antibodies attach to selected surface or internal markers, allowing the laboratory to compare the neutrophil population with expected patterns. The report may describe the number of cells tested, their maturity, and whether marker expression looks typical or unusual.
