Why the rash may seem to spread

When to seek care

Get same-day advice if redness is rapidly enlarging, hot, tender or draining, or if you develop fever or feel unwell. Seek emergency help for breathing trouble, swelling of the lips or tongue, faintness, widespread hives, blistering, skin peeling, purple spots, or rash involving the eyes or mouth.
