Mesotherapy for skin pigmentation: what to know

Pigmentation can follow acne, irritation, eczema, sun exposure, hormonal change or another skin condition. Mesotherapy uses multiple small injections, and its contents vary between providers. Injection-related inflammation can sometimes make uneven colour more noticeable, particularly in skin that marks after irritation. Treatment may target appearance, but it does not remove the reason pigment formed, and results can vary with the diagnosis and daily sun exposure.

Ask a qualified clinician to assess the colour, pattern and history of the patches before choosing injections. Discuss pregnancy or breastfeeding, medicines, allergies, recent tanning, active acne, eczema and previous dark marks after procedures. Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen as advised and avoid picking or harsh exfoliation. Ask for the product name, realistic goals, alternatives and a plan if the skin becomes irritated. Skin Boosters are a related injectable option, but they are not automatically a pigmentation treatment.

Arrange a medical review for a new, changing, bleeding or persistently itchy dark spot rather than treating it cosmetically first. After injections, contact the clinic for increasing warmth, spreading redness, pus, severe pain or worsening darkening. Urgent care is needed for breathing difficulty, facial swelling, severe blistering or sudden vision symptoms.
