What should you know about meso microneedling pen?

A [Microneedling Pen](/technology/microneedling-pen/) is a powered handpiece with fine needles that create controlled openings in the skin. In a meso version, a clinic may pair needling with a serum or another product. “Meso” does not by itself identify what is applied, how deeply the needles travel, or whether anything is injected.

The procedure can cause temporary redness, pinpoint bleeding, sensitivity, swelling, dryness, or flaking. If the skin is already infected, inflamed, sunburned, or healing from another procedure, needling may be unsuitable. Product ingredients can also irritate sensitive skin or trigger a reaction.

Ask who will perform the procedure, whether a new sterile cartridge is used, how the pen is cleaned, what depth and settings are planned, and whether the product is applied to the surface or injected. Share active skin conditions, cold-sore history, medicines, allergies, pregnancy or breastfeeding status, and a tendency to form raised scars.
