What should you know about impetigo scars on the face?

Once a facial sore closes, the area may look pink, red, brown, or lighter than nearby skin. This is a colour change rather than a true indentation or raised scar, and it can take time to blend with surrounding skin. Picking, rubbing, repeated crust removal, or a deeper infection can increase tissue injury and the chance of a textured mark.
