What should you know about imiquimod tratamiento?

Imiquimod treatment is planned around the diagnosis, the size and location of the affected skin, and your medical history. The cream is not a general-purpose treatment for unexplained lesions. It works by encouraging an immune response in the treated area, which may make the skin look more inflamed before it settles.

Treatment is a process rather than a single application. The clinician may explain application nights, washing instructions, planned breaks and the point at which the area will be examined. A visible reaction is not a substitute for that review, and an unchanged area should also be discussed rather than managed by applying more cream.

Mark the prescribed application days, use only the stated amount and wash your hands before and after use. Keep the cream away from the eyes, mouth and unprescribed skin. Wear comfortable clothing that does not rub the area, and avoid picking, harsh scrubs or unrelated active products unless approved.

Tell the treatment team if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, immunosuppressed, using another medicine on the same site or planning a procedure nearby. If an application is missed or washed off early, check the written plan instead of compensating with an extra dose.

Arrange advice when irritation is severe enough to disrupt sleep, work or washing, or when pain, swelling or discharge continues despite the planned break. Urgent care is needed for trouble breathing, swelling of the lips or throat, faintness, widespread blistering or a rapidly spreading rash. Contact the clinic if you are unsure whether a new symptom is from treatment.

Ask what improvement will be assessed, how the schedule can be adjusted if the reaction is strong, which products are safe during breaks, and how the treated site will be checked afterward.
