How long does urodynamic testing take to work for overactive bladder?

The assessment may measure bladder pressure, urine flow, bladder capacity and how well the bladder and urinary sphincter coordinate. You may be asked to fill your bladder, report sensations and empty it while measurements are recorded.

The findings can help distinguish urgency-related bladder symptoms from problems with emptying or other patterns. They are interpreted alongside your symptoms, examination and urine history. The test itself does not relax the bladder or stop urgency.

Follow the clinic’s instructions about arriving with a full bladder, medicines and fluid intake. Tell the team about urinary symptoms, pregnancy, allergies, previous urinary infections or difficulty passing urine.
