How long does covid last on surfaces?

How long virus remains detectable or infectious depends on the material, moisture, temperature, sunlight, and how often the surface is touched or cleaned. A smooth, frequently touched object and a dry, porous surface do not behave in the same way.

In everyday settings, breathing shared air is generally a more relevant route of spread than touching an object.
