How effective is RF microneedling for stretch marks?

Stretch marks form when the deeper skin is stretched and its supporting fibres change. Newer marks may be red, purple or darker than surrounding skin; older marks often become pale and slightly indented. RF microneedling creates controlled microscopic channels while radiofrequency heat reaches selected skin layers. Healing and collagen remodeling may make the surface feel more even and reduce visual contrast.

The response depends on the mark's age, colour, width, location and your skin characteristics. The abdomen, hips, thighs, breasts and upper arms may be considered, but the clinician must account for sensitive or recently treated skin. The goal is blending and texture improvement, not restoring unmarked skin.

Have the marks examined before booking treatment, especially if they appeared suddenly or without an obvious change in body size. Tell the practitioner about pregnancy, breastfeeding, active eczema, infections, medicines and any history of raised or slow-healing scars. Discuss needle depth, heat settings, expected recovery and whether another approach may suit red or pale marks better.

Seek prompt care for signs of a serious allergic reaction or rapidly worsening swelling. An examination can distinguish expected healing from infection, a burn or a pigment reaction.
