How does under-eye filler work?

A trained injector maps the transition between the lower eyelid and cheek, then places hyaluronic acid filler in a suitable tissue plane. The material adds volume and can alter how light falls across the hollow. This may soften a tired-looking shadow, but it does not remove pigment, thin skin, prominent fat pads, or fluid-related puffiness. Dark circles and under-eye bags can have several causes, so treating a hollow may address only one part of the appearance. The under-eye area is delicate and can swell or bruise after injection.

Have an in-person assessment of the eyelids, cheeks, skin quality, allergies, previous filler, and eye history. Share all medicines and supplements, especially those that affect bleeding. After treatment, use only the recommended products, avoid pressing or massaging the area unless instructed, and protect the skin from sun. Allow early swelling to settle before judging the result. Ask whether the product can be dissolved if the plan uses hyaluronic acid.

Contact the injector promptly for worsening pain, marked one-sided swelling, increasing redness, or unusual skin colour. Seek emergency care for sudden vision change, severe eye pain, weakness, or trouble speaking after an injection. These symptoms need immediate assessment rather than observation at home.
