How does ovulation induction work?

Treatment begins with an assessment of menstrual patterns, hormone results and other fertility factors. Medicines such as Letrozole or Clomifene Citrate can encourage the ovary to develop a follicle. Ultrasound scans and sometimes hormone tests help the team see how the follicle is responding. A further medicine may be used to time egg release.

The approach may be used for Anovulation, including ovulation problems associated with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome. It does not address every cause of Female Infertility, and the plan may change if the ovaries respond too strongly or not enough.

Take each medicine exactly on the prescribed days and attend monitoring appointments. Follow the advice about intercourse or IUI timing. Tell the clinic about new medicines, severe discomfort or visual symptoms, and do not change the dose without guidance.

Seek urgent advice for severe pelvic pain, marked abdominal swelling, breathing difficulty, faintness or heavy bleeding during treatment. These symptoms need assessment for complications rather than waiting for the next appointment.
