How common is excessive sweating in hypoglycaemia?

Short answer
Excessive Sweating is a common presentation of Hypoglycaemia. It can be part of the body's adrenaline response when blood glucose falls.
This answers one question. It is not a diagnosis and does not replace an assessment by a licensed doctor.

Signs that can accompany it
A person with low blood glucose may also feel shaky, hungry, weak, dizzy, irritable, anxious or have a pounding heartbeat. Blurred vision, difficulty concentrating, unusual behaviour or drowsiness can signal worsening low glucose. Sweating by itself has many explanations and does not show that hypoglycaemia is the cause.
What to do if low glucose is suspected
If the person is awake and can swallow, check glucose if a meter is available and follow their personalised diabetes plan. Give the fast-acting glucose treatment they have been advised to use, then recheck as directed and eat a longer-lasting snack or meal when appropriate. Do not give food or drink to someone who is drowsy, confused or unable to swallow.
When to seek urgent care
Call emergency services for a seizure, loss of consciousness, inability to swallow, severe confusion or symptoms that do not improve after the person's prescribed rescue plan. Place an unconscious person on their side, stay with them and use prescribed emergency treatment only if trained and instructed.
Questions for your doctor
Ask what symptoms should trigger a glucose check, which rescue treatment to carry, and how medicines, meals and exercise may affect your risk. Review the plan after repeated episodes or episodes without warning symptoms.

Questions people ask
Does sweating always mean hypoglycaemia?
No. Heat, exercise, anxiety, medicines and other conditions can cause sweating. Glucose testing and the wider symptom pattern help clarify the situation.
What if the person cannot swallow?
Do not give food or drink. Use prescribed emergency treatment if available and trained, and call emergency services for urgent help.
