Heat Rash on the Buttocks: Treatment

Heat rash occurs when sweat cannot escape easily and the surrounding skin becomes irritated. On the buttocks, sitting, close-fitting fabric, and skin-to-skin contact can prolong the problem. First remove the trigger: cool the area, wash gently, dry every fold, and change damp clothing. Reduce sitting-related rubbing and choose breathable materials. Book a clinical review if the rash persists, recurs, becomes difficult to distinguish from a fungal infection, or does not respond to careful moisture control. Prompt care is needed for pus, spreading redness, warmth, open skin, swelling, fever, or escalating pain. Urgent assessment is warranted for rapid deterioration, severe systemic symptoms, or breathing difficulty.
