What should you know about green tattoo removal?

A laser delivers short bursts of energy that fragment selected tattoo pigment; the body then clears the smaller particles gradually. Green shades can contain different pigment mixtures, so one wavelength may not suit every tattoo. A provider may consider a Picosecond Laser or Q-Switched Laser, test a small area, and adjust settings for your skin tone and ink response.

Share your medical history, medicines, tendency to form raised scars, and any prior reaction to tattoo ink. Protect the area from sun exposure as advised and arrive with clean skin. After treatment, follow the dressing and washing instructions, do not pick crusts or blisters, and use the recommended protection while the skin heals. Ask when shaving, swimming, or applying products is appropriate.

Contact the treating clinician if redness spreads, pain worsens, drainage develops, or the area becomes increasingly warm.
