Check what the free test includes, who interprets it, how results are communicated, and whether follow-up is provided. Bring a list of medicines, previous test results, and details of urinary changes. Tell the clinician about blood in the urine, bone pain, weight change, fever, or a family history of prostate cancer.

If prostate cancer is diagnosed, treatment depends on its grade, stage, symptoms, and overall health. Options can include monitoring, surgery, radiotherapy, brachytherapy, or selected medicines; a test result alone does not choose among them.

Seek urgent help if you cannot pass urine, have heavy blood in the urine, severe lower abdominal pain, fever with urinary symptoms, or new leg weakness. Acute retention and infection need timely treatment, regardless of a cancer test result.
