Food allergy test at Thyrocare: what to know

Short answer
A food allergy test may support an allergy assessment, but a Thyrocare result needs clinical interpretation alongside your symptoms and food history.
This answers one question. It is not a diagnosis and does not replace an assessment by a licensed doctor.

Understanding a test result
Blood testing can look for immune sensitisation to selected allergens. Sensitisation does not always mean that eating the food causes symptoms, and a negative panel may not cover every possible trigger. A clinician compares the result with what happened, how soon it happened, the amount eaten, and whether the reaction was repeatable.
Broad food panels can identify findings that are difficult to interpret and may lead to unnecessary restriction. Food allergy is different from intolerance: intolerance may cause digestive symptoms without the same immune reaction. Do not diagnose yourself from a report or remove many foods without nutritional guidance.
How to prepare and follow up
Write down suspected foods, ingredients, portion details, timing, symptoms, medicines taken, and any treatment needed. Share the full laboratory report with a doctor or allergy specialist. Ask whether the tested allergens match your history and whether another method of assessment is appropriate.
Until reviewed, avoid a food that has caused a convincing reaction and check labels carefully. Do not deliberately reintroduce it at home when a previous reaction involved swelling, breathing symptoms, faintness, or rapid progression.
When symptoms are an emergency
Seek emergency help for throat or tongue swelling, wheezing, difficulty breathing, repeated vomiting with other allergic symptoms, dizziness, collapse, or rapidly spreading hives. A test appointment cannot safely manage an active severe reaction; follow your prescribed emergency plan and call emergency services.
Useful questions to ask
Ask what the report measures, which result matches your symptoms, whether you need an action plan, and how to distinguish allergy from intolerance. Ask whether you should carry prescribed adrenaline and whether supervised food challenge is relevant.

Questions people ask
Is a positive food panel proof that I must avoid every listed food?
No. A positive result can show sensitisation, so a clinician must relate it to your reactions before recommending restrictions.
Can a blood test predict anaphylaxis?
It cannot reliably predict the severity of a future reaction. Your clinical history and an emergency plan remain important.
