What should you know about flucloxacillin for boil?

A boil is a tender, inflamed lump caused by infection around a hair follicle. It can enlarge, become warm, and develop a central pocket of pus. Skin Lumps and Painful Skin have many possible causes, so an examination helps distinguish a boil from an inflamed cyst or another problem.

Obtain prompt review if it keeps enlarging, red streaks appear, several boils develop, or drainage continues without improvement. Facial swelling or a severe rash after flucloxacillin needs emergency help.
