What should you know about first period after molar pregnancy?

After the pregnancy tissue is removed, the care team usually follows human chorionic gonadotropin, or hCG, until it falls as expected. A first period can occur while this monitoring is continuing. Flow may differ from your usual cycle, and bleeding between periods can have several causes, including healing, hormonal adjustment or retained tissue.

A period is not the same as confirmation that follow-up is complete.
