Tiny rough bumps on the upper arms or thighs may fit keratosis pilaris, while small white, firm bumps on the face can be milia. Red bumps around hairs may be folliculitis. Sweating and friction can contribute to heat rash, and itchy purple or flat-topped bumps need a different assessment. Use a gentle cleanser, lukewarm water, and a plain moisturiser. Reduce friction, tight clothing, heavy oils, and fragranced products on the affected area. Do not squeeze or scrape the bumps.
