Filler injection for dark circles

Under-eye darkness can come from a hollow that casts a shadow, visible blood vessels through thin skin, brown pigment, puffiness, irritation, or a combination. A tear-trough hollow is a structural dip between the lower eyelid and cheek. Filler can soften a shadow from that dip by adding support, but it does not remove pigment or correct active dermatitis. The under-eye is delicate, so product choice, depth, and amount require careful judgment.

Ask for an examination in natural light and discuss allergies, eczema or atopic dermatitis, eye conditions, previous filler, medicines, and recent procedures. Ask whether your darkness is mainly a hollow, pigment, or skin issue. Review the proposed product, injection plane, expected swelling, and follow-up plan. A clinician may discuss under-eye filler alongside treatment for the contributing cause rather than treating the shadow alone.

Report worsening redness, warmth, tenderness, swelling that continues to increase, or discharge to the treating clinic. Seek urgent care for severe eye pain, a sudden visual change, double vision, marked skin color change, or a severe headache after injection. Do not wait for a routine review if vision is affected.
