Fibroadenoma with cellular stroma explained

Stroma is the connective and supportive tissue within a breast lesion. Cellular stroma means the pathologist saw more stromal cells than in a less cellular pattern. This is a description of tissue appearance, not a diagnosis on its own.

The report must be read as a whole. The pathologist assesses the shape and arrangement of the lesion, the sampled cells, and whether the tissue result fits the examination and imaging. A cellular pattern can lead to a recommendation for closer review when the sample or scan leaves uncertainty.
