Fibroadenoma en mama: what the term means

Fibroadenoma is a non-cancerous breast condition involving glandular and connective tissue. On examination, it may feel round or oval, firm, and mobile beneath the skin. It may be found during self-awareness, a clinical check, or imaging performed for another reason. Some people notice tenderness or a change in size with hormonal fluctuations, while others notice no symptoms.

The name alone does not confirm that a particular lump is a fibroadenoma. A breast clinician considers your history, examination findings, and imaging before deciding whether observation is suitable.

Make a note of when you first noticed the lump and whether its size, position, or tenderness changes. Arrange an appointment for a new or changing breast finding.
