Feet and Finger Itching: Causes, Relief, and Warning Signs

Short answer
Feet or finger itching can result from irritation, dry skin, eczema, infection, or an inflammatory rash, so the pattern and accompanying changes matter.
This answers one question. It is not a diagnosis and does not replace an assessment by a licensed doctor.

What itching in these areas can mean
Itching between the toes or around the fingers may follow sweat, friction, harsh soaps, gloves, footwear, or a new product. Contact Dermatitis can make exposed skin itchy, red, dry, or blistered after contact with an irritant or allergen. Atopic Dermatitis and Asteatotic Eczema can cause itch with dryness and irritation.
A Skin Yeast Infection may affect warm, moist folds and can cause soreness, redness, or broken skin. Psoriasis can create defined scaly patches, while Lichen Planus may cause an itchy rash with a different colour or shape. Scabies often causes intense itching and may affect household contacts. Hives usually produce raised, transient itchy areas. These conditions can overlap in appearance, so the direction of diagnosis runs from the condition to its possible presentation: each condition may present with itching, but itching alone does not identify one cause.
What you can do now
Rinse off possible irritants, pat the skin dry, and use a bland, fragrance-free moisturiser on dry areas. Keep spaces between the toes clean and dry, change sweaty socks, and avoid tight shoes or gloves until the skin settles. A cool compress can reduce the urge to scratch. Keep nails short and avoid breaking blisters or scratching open skin.
Do not share towels, socks, shoes, or bedding when an infection or scabies is possible. Avoid using steroid, antifungal, or scabies treatments at random, because the wrong product can mask the rash or irritate damaged skin. Take a clear photo when the rash is visible and note new products, travel, pets, or symptoms in anyone else at home.
When to seek medical care
Seek prompt care for rapidly spreading redness, marked swelling, warmth, pus, fever, severe pain, or red streaks. Get urgent help if itching is accompanied by swelling of the lips or tongue, breathing difficulty, faintness, or widespread blistering. Arrange an appointment when the itch lasts, repeatedly returns, disrupts sleep, affects several household members, or leaves cracks and sores. People with diabetes, reduced sensation, or poor circulation should have foot wounds assessed early.
Questions for your doctor
Ask what the rash pattern suggests, whether skin scraping or another test is needed, and which treatment is appropriate for the exact site. Tell the clinician when the itch began, whether it is worse at night, what touches the area, and whether there is scaling, discharge, pain, or itching in someone close to you.

Questions people ask
Why do my feet and fingers itch at the same time?
A shared irritant, eczema, sweating, or an infection can affect both areas. The distribution, rash appearance, and recent exposures help separate these possibilities.
Should I scratch an itchy foot or finger rash?
Scratching can break the skin and increase irritation or infection risk. Use a cool compress, protect the area, and arrange an assessment if the itch persists or the skin changes.
