What should you know about feeling full quickly when eating?

Early satiety means you feel full after eating less than you normally would. Bloating, reflux, constipation, stomach irritation, and slowed movement of food through the stomach can contribute. Some medicines can also reduce appetite or alter digestion. Ovarian Cancer and Stomach Cancer can present with reduced appetite, bloating, or early fullness, but this symptom alone does not identify either condition.

Arrange a clinician visit if the change continues, returns often, or makes it difficult to maintain your usual food and fluid intake. Record when fullness begins, what you eat, associated pain or nausea, bowel changes, and any medicines or supplements. Smaller meals, eating slowly, and choosing nourishing foods may help while you arrange advice; do not stop prescribed treatment without guidance.

Seek prompt medical help for vomiting that does not settle, black or bloody stools, severe or worsening abdominal pain, trouble swallowing, yellowing of the skin, faintness, or inability to keep fluids down. Unplanned weight loss or persistent fullness also warrants timely assessment, particularly when accompanied by pelvic or abdominal swelling.
