What should you know about fat transfer tummy to breast?

The procedure combines liposuction with fat grafting. A surgeon removes fat from a suitable donor area, commonly the tummy, processes it, and injects small amounts into planned areas of the breast. This can improve fullness or contour without using an implant, but it cannot create unlimited volume. Some transferred fat is naturally reabsorbed while the breasts heal, so the early appearance may change.

Your breast size, skin quality, available donor fat, weight stability, and personal goals all affect whether this approach fits you. It may be considered for subtle enhancement or contour correction, but it is not a substitute for every type of breast surgery. The surgeon should also explain how breast screening and the interpretation of future imaging may be affected by surgical changes.

During consultation, discuss your target shape, previous breast procedures, medications, smoking or nicotine use, allergies, and any breast symptoms. Keep your weight reasonably stable and follow the clinic's instructions about medicines, eating, bathing, compression garments, and arranging help at home. Do not assume that a larger amount of donor fat means a larger final result.

Expect bruising, swelling, tightness, and soreness in both the tummy and breasts at first. Gentle movement is usually encouraged, while strenuous exercise and pressure on healing areas should wait until your surgical team says they are appropriate. Attend follow-up visits so the wounds, donor area, and breast changes can be checked. Healing and settling take time, and the final contour is assessed after the early swelling has reduced.

Contact your surgical team promptly for worsening redness, warmth, swelling, drainage, wound opening, fever, or pain that is not controlled by the prescribed plan. Seek urgent medical help for sudden chest pain, severe breathlessness, fainting, new confusion, or one-sided leg swelling and pain. A rapidly enlarging breast, marked skin colour change, or sudden change affecting one side also needs prompt assessment.

Ask which areas can safely provide donor fat, what change is realistic for your anatomy, how the surgeon plans to handle asymmetry, and what happens if the result is smaller than expected. Also ask about scars, activity restrictions, follow-up, breast imaging, and the clinic's plan for managing complications.
