The laser delivers energy that is absorbed by tattoo pigment. The pigment breaks into smaller particles, which the body clears gradually. Ink colour, depth, density, age, previous treatments and your skin tone affect the response. Facial skin needs particular attention because pigment changes and irritation can be visible, and some cosmetic pigments may darken or change colour after laser exposure.

Choose a qualified medical provider who will inspect the tattoo and discuss a test area when appropriate.
