Face Skin Tag Removal With Laser: What to Know

A skin tag is usually a soft, flesh-coloured growth that hangs from a narrow base. A bump on the face may instead be a mole, wart, cyst, or another lesion, and these can need different treatment. Laser is therefore not a diagnosis; it is one possible procedure after examination.

The clinician considers the growth's size, attachment, location, colour, surface, and recent changes. Facial skin also needs careful planning because pigment changes or a visible mark can follow treatment, especially in darker skin tones.

Do not cut, tie off, burn, or apply unverified products to a facial growth at home. Book an assessment and mention medicines, bleeding problems, a history of unusual scars, cold sores, and previous reactions to procedures.

Have a facial growth assessed promptly if it changes quickly, bleeds without being rubbed, becomes painful, develops uneven colour or an irregular border, or fails to heal after treatment. Increasing redness, warmth, pus, fever, or worsening pain after a procedure can indicate infection and needs review.

Ask how the growth was identified, why laser is suitable, whether tissue should be sent for examination, what mark or pigment change is possible, how to protect the area afterward, and which symptoms should trigger a follow-up visit.
