Face Mask for Sunburn

Sunburn is an inflammatory injury from ultraviolet exposure. Facial skin may feel hot, tender, tight, or itchy and can later develop Skin Redness, peeling, or Skin Blisters. A mask can trap heat, stick to fragile skin, or contain fragrance, acids, alcohol, or exfoliating particles. These effects can increase irritation rather than speed recovery. Repeated sun exposure also contributes to Sun-Damaged Skin.

Move out of the sun and cool the face with a clean, damp cloth; avoid ice directly on the skin. Wash gently, pat dry, and apply a bland moisturiser or Emollient Therapy product while the skin is slightly damp. Do not peel loose skin or break blisters. Keep the area covered from sunlight with a hat and shade, and avoid makeup or active skincare until tenderness settles. A clinician can advise whether a prescribed Topical Corticosteroids treatment is appropriate.

Get medical advice for extensive blistering, severe pain, facial swelling, fever, vomiting, confusion, faintness, or signs of infection such as worsening warmth and drainage. Eye pain or vision changes after sun exposure needs prompt assessment.
