What should you know about eczema dots?

Eczema does not have one fixed appearance. Small spots may feel rough, dry, itchy, swollen, or scaly, and several nearby spots can merge into a larger patch. After irritation settles, a dot may remain darker or lighter because of a pigment change. On richly pigmented skin, inflammation may look brown, purple, or grey rather than bright red.
