EasyOne Air spirometer: what to know

The device is used for spirometry, a breathing test that measures how much air you can move and how fast you can expel it. It may be used in a clinic or another supervised setting to assess airflow, monitor a lung condition or compare readings over time. A result can be affected by poor mouthpiece seal, hesitation, coughing or an incomplete breath, so quality matters as much as the number.

Follow the operator's instructions and wear clothing that allows your chest to expand. Sit upright if told to do so, keep the mouthpiece sealed with your lips, inhale fully and blow out forcefully until instructed to stop. Several attempts may be needed. Bring your inhalers and medication list, and ask in advance whether any medicine should be withheld; never pause treatment without guidance.

Tell the operator if blowing causes chest pain, marked dizziness or worsening breathlessness. Seek emergency help for severe breathing difficulty, fainting, blue or grey lips, confusion or chest pain that is severe or persistent. A device reading should not delay urgent assessment.

Ask what the measured values represent, whether your test was technically acceptable, how the result fits your symptoms, and when repeat testing is useful. Ask how the equipment and mouthpiece should be cleaned if you use it outside a clinic.
