What is early puberty called?

Precocious puberty is a description of timing, not a complete explanation of why changes are happening. Signs can include breast development, pubic or underarm hair, body odour, rapid growth, acne, or menstrual bleeding. Some children have one isolated change that does not progress, while others develop a sequence of hormone-driven changes. A clinician looks at growth, physical findings, family history, medicines, and possible hormone exposure before deciding whether further evaluation is needed.
