Dulcolax for indigestion

Indigestion, also called dyspepsia, can involve early fullness, bloating, belching, nausea, or discomfort in the upper abdomen. Dulcolax stimulates bowel movement and is intended for constipation; it does not reduce stomach acid or heal irritation in the stomach lining.

Indigestion may occur with acid reflux, gastritis, gallstones, a peptic ulcer, or a hiatus hernia. Helicobacter pylori infection is another possible contributor. The right treatment depends on the symptom pattern, medicines, and examination.

Do not take Dulcolax for indigestion unless a clinician has also advised it for constipation. Keep meals smaller, avoid foods that clearly trigger symptoms, and remain upright after eating. A clinician or pharmacist can advise whether acid reflux medication is appropriate and whether testing is needed.

Arrange medical assessment for indigestion that keeps returning, interferes with eating, or is accompanied by repeated vomiting or unexplained weight loss. Seek urgent care for severe or worsening pain, vomiting blood, black stools, fainting, or chest discomfort with breathlessness.
