Lipolysis injections use an injected substance to act on fat cells in a defined area. They are designed for localized fullness, not general weight management. A consultation should check the thickness and position of the fat, the condition of the skin, the strength of the neck muscles, and the shape of the chin and jaw. Swelling, tenderness, bruising, firmness, or numbness can occur during healing, and the treated area may look uneven while it settles.
