Submental fullness is the soft fat pad that creates a fuller appearance under the chin, sometimes called a double chin fat pad. The injected medicine is placed into the fatty layer, where it disrupts fat cells. The body then clears the treated cell material gradually.

This approach is intended for localized fat rather than loose skin, a prominent muscle band, or fullness caused by a swollen gland or another medical problem. If skin has limited elasticity, reducing fat can leave laxity more noticeable. A clinician should examine the area before treatment and check whether another explanation needs assessment.

Arrange an assessment with a qualified medical practitioner who routinely performs injections in the under-chin area. Share your medicines, allergies, previous procedures, swallowing or nerve problems, and any infection or skin irritation near the planned injection sites.
