Does facelift treat jowls?

Jowls form when skin and deeper supporting tissues become looser around the lower cheeks and jaw. A facelift addresses laxity by working through incisions placed around the ear and sometimes nearby areas, depending on the technique. It can sharpen the transition from cheek to jaw, but it does not correct every cause of a less defined jawline.
