An IV vitamin drip delivers fluid and selected nutrients through a small tube placed in a vein. Before offering it, a clinician should ask about your symptoms, medical history, medicines, allergies and the reason you want the treatment. The practice may check your vital signs and decide whether another assessment or treatment is more suitable. An IV line can cause bruising, irritation or infection, and some ingredients may be unsuitable for people with particular medical conditions.
