Diaper rash bumps: causes, care and when to seek help

Small red bumps on exposed nappy areas may follow irritation from dampness or rubbing. A vivid red rash involving the folds with smaller spots around its edge can fit a yeast pattern. Raised areas with blisters, pus, crusting, marked swelling, or tenderness need clinical assessment because they may represent infection or another diagnosis.

Change nappies frequently, rinse gently, and pat the skin dry. Use fragrance-free products and give brief nappy-free time when practical. A protective barrier can limit contact with urine and stool.
