What should you know about dermatofibroma tratamiento?

A dermatofibroma is a firm skin nodule that is often harmless and stable. If it is typical, comfortable and unchanged, a dermatologist may recommend leaving it alone and watching for new features. Treatment is not automatically required simply because the nodule is present.

Removal can be considered when the lesion catches on clothing, causes repeated irritation, is persistently itchy or painful, or cannot be confidently identified from examination. Excision removes the nodule with a margin of surrounding skin and may leave a scar. Other methods may flatten or alter the visible lesion without removing all of its deeper tissue, so recurrence or a changed appearance is possible.

Have a clinician confirm the diagnosis before choosing a cosmetic or procedural option. Tell them about growth, bleeding, tenderness, previous injury to the area and any tendency to form raised scars. If removal is planned, discuss local anaesthetic, wound care, activity restrictions, scar expectations and whether the tissue will be sent for examination.

Arrange review if a lesion enlarges, changes its outline or colour, bleeds, crusts, opens or becomes painful. After removal, contact the treating team for increasing swelling, spreading redness, pus, fever or bleeding that continues despite direct pressure.

Ask whether observation is reasonable, what symptom makes treatment worthwhile, which procedure fits the location, how a scar may look, and how the tissue will be checked after removal.
