What should you know about Derma Co kojic acid?

Kojic acid is a topical skin-brightening ingredient that can reduce pigment formation in the skin. It may be included in routines for marks left after inflammation, sun-related uneven tone, or other pigmentation concerns. It does not identify the cause of a dark mark and should not be used to mask a changing lesion.

Results depend on the formulation, the cause and depth of pigmentation, regular use, and protection from ultraviolet exposure. Irritation can itself leave darker marks, particularly in skin that readily develops post-inflammatory pigmentation.

Patch test according to the product guidance, introduce one new active at a time, and apply only to the intended area. Avoid eyes, lips, broken skin, and freshly irritated or waxed skin. Do not layer it with several exfoliating or irritating products until you know how your skin responds.
