What should you know about Dentinox cradle cap oil?

Cradle cap, also called infantile seborrheic dermatitis, commonly appears as greasy or flaky scales on the scalp. It may look yellow, white, or brown and can extend towards the eyebrows or behind the ears. Babies are usually not troubled by it, and the scales are not a sign that the scalp is dirty.

An oil can soften adherent scale so it releases more easily during gentle washing. It does not treat every scalp rash. Redness, oozing, crusting, marked itch, or involvement outside typical areas may point to another problem and should not be managed by repeatedly adding oil.

Use the product exactly as its label directs. Apply a small amount to the affected scalp, allow it to soften the scale for the advised period, then wash with a mild baby shampoo. A soft brush may lift loosened flakes, but never scratch, pick, or pull attached scale. Keep oil away from the eyes, mouth, and nose, and wash hands before and after care.

Do not leave oily products on longer than directed or use them on broken skin. If scales return, repeat only according to the instructions. A clinician may recommend emollient therapy for dryness or a topical antifungal treatment when the appearance suggests a different diagnosis.

Arrange medical advice if the scalp is painful, warm, swollen, bleeding, wet, strongly inflamed, or developing pus. Seek review if the rash spreads, the baby seems unwell, hair is coming out in patches, or gentle care has not improved the problem.
