Short answer

DEKA SmartXide Touch CO2 laser is a fractional resurfacing treatment that delivers controlled CO2 laser energy to selected skin zones.

This answers one question. It is not a diagnosis and does not replace an assessment by a licensed doctor.

How the treatment works

A scanner distributes energy in a pattern of tiny treatment points. This allows the clinician to tailor coverage and depth to areas such as the face or other approved body sites. The aim may be to improve selected texture concerns, scars, fine lines, or uneven surface appearance.

The treated skin commonly feels warm or sunburned and may become red, swollen, dry, or flaky. Darkening or lightening of pigment, infection, prolonged redness, and delayed healing can occur. Your skin tone, previous reactions, medicines, and the chosen settings all matter when weighing the treatment.

Before and after the session

Discuss tanning, pigment changes after past injuries, cold sores, eczema, acne, allergies, medicines, and previous procedures. A clinician may change the plan if the skin is inflamed or recently exposed to strong sun. Clarify the cleansing, moisturising, and sun-protection routine before you leave.

During recovery, wash gently, keep the area moisturised as directed, and protect it from sunlight. Avoid scratching, picking, swimming, heavy heat, and unapproved exfoliating products while the surface heals. The visible recovery period depends on energy settings and treatment area.

Warning signs after treatment

Call the clinic if pain, swelling, or redness is increasing, or if you see pus, fever, spreading warmth, extensive blistering, or an unexpected change in skin colour. Get urgent help for breathing difficulty, severe facial swelling, or eye symptoms.

Questions to take to a consultation

Ask what result is realistic for your specific concern, whether fractional treatment suits your skin tone, how many appointments might be discussed, what downtime to plan for, and which symptoms require same-day advice.
