What should you know about dark eye bags?

A brown or grey tone that stays visible when the skin is gently stretched may be pigmentation. A blue or purple cast can be more noticeable through thin under-eye skin. Hollows beneath the lower eyelid can create a dark band because they catch overhead light, even when the skin itself is not deeply pigmented.

Puffiness tends to look fuller after waking, salty meals, crying, or poor sleep, and it may settle during the day. Sun exposure, rubbing, allergies, dehydration, and natural ageing can make the area look darker or more creased.
