What should you know about a dark cyst on the inner thigh?

Friction, sweat, shaving, or a healing inflamed spot can leave darker pigment around a lump. A cyst may feel smooth and firm beneath the skin and sometimes has a small opening. A painful, warm, rapidly enlarging lump can instead be an abscess or another infection.
