What should you know about d3 kinesiology tape?

Short answer
D3 kinesiology tape is a stretchy adhesive support that may complement rehabilitation, but it does not correct an underlying injury by itself.
This answers one question. It is not a diagnosis and does not replace an assessment by a licensed doctor.

What kinesiology tape can do
Kinesiology tape is designed to move with the skin rather than hold a joint completely still. A physiotherapist may use it to provide light sensory feedback, support awareness of a movement pattern, or make a painful activity feel more comfortable. Its value depends on the problem, the application, and the rest of the rehabilitation plan.
Tape is not a substitute for assessment, strengthening, load management, or treatment of a serious injury. Adhesive can irritate skin, especially when left on too long or applied over broken, infected, or recently shaved skin.
Applying and removing it
Have a trained clinician show you the placement and amount of stretch. Apply it to clean, dry skin without covering an open wound. Rub the surface gently to activate the adhesive, keep it away from areas that rub, and remove it slowly in the direction of hair growth while supporting the skin.
Stop using it if you develop burning, blistering, marked itching, swelling, or increasing pain. Record whether the tape changes movement or symptoms so your therapist can adjust the plan rather than treating the tape as the main treatment.
When to get help
Remove the tape and seek advice for spreading redness, blisters, facial swelling, breathing difficulty, or signs of infection. Seek urgent assessment for new weakness, loss of sensation, severe swelling, or pain after a major injury, whether or not tape is being used.
Questions to ask
Ask what the tape is meant to change, how long to wear it, whether showering or exercise is suitable, and how to remove it. Confirm the application is safe for your skin and fits with your physiotherapy exercises.
