What should you know about cryolipolysis after care?

The treated area may feel numb, tender, tight, swollen, bruised, itchy or tingly. Sensation can change gradually, so protect numb skin from heat, cold and pressure. These effects are local and do not mean the treatment is working everywhere in the body. Your clinician can explain the expected course for the device and body area used.

Follow the clinic's written instructions and take only medicines they have said are appropriate for you. Keep the skin clean, avoid picking or vigorous massage over irritated skin, and choose loose clothing if the area is sensitive. Gentle movement may be comfortable, but pause activities that increase pain. Do not apply extreme heat or cold to an area with reduced sensation. Keep your follow-up appointment so the treated skin and contour can be assessed.

Call the treating clinic promptly for worsening pain, expanding redness, blistering, open skin, drainage, fever, or swelling that is not settling. Seek urgent help for trouble breathing, widespread hives, facial swelling or faintness. Arrange an assessment for a persistent firm enlargement, pronounced asymmetry or symptoms that interfere with sleep or daily activity. Do not assume a severe reaction is normal aftercare.
